Dennis Donald Kithcart Sr., 69, of Belle Plaine, passed away Monday, June 20, 2016, at his home.
Dennis was born April 1, 1947, to Donald and Maxine (Vavroch) Kithcart of Chelsea, Iowa. On Aug. 19, 1969, he married Beverly Butterfield at the Congregational Church in Belle Plaine. They had two children, Dennis Jr. and Stacy. His greatest joy was his grandchildren, Breanna and Dalton Robertson. Dennis worked for Funks/Ciba-Geigy for 22 years, Meskwaki Casino and Grieder Beverage Depot. He served in the Army and was a member of American Legion Post No. 39. He enjoyed collecting coins and John Wayne memorabilia.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Beverly; son, Dennis Kithcart Jr.; daughter, Stacy (Craig) Jahlas; grandchildren, Breanna and Dalton Robertson; brother, Larry (Sue) Kithcart; and niece, Caitlyn, all of Belle Plaine.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and grandparents.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 25, at Hrabak Funeral Home in Belle Plaine with Deacon Joe Behounek officiating. Burial will take place at Rector Cemetery in Chelsea. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 24, at the funeral home and will continue one hour before the service Saturday.
