Dennis Dale Hahn Sr., 77, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016, at Willow Gardens Care Center in Marion. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral service: 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, at Zion Lutheran Church, Hiawatha. The family also will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Kathryn of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; children, Dennis (Michelle) Hahn Jr. of Amana, Iowa, David (Deanna) Hahn of Rochester, Minn., Star (Randy) Sutton of Mandeville, La., and Dustin (Tammy) Hahn of Marion, Iowa; stepchildren, Michael (Lisa) Bockenstedt of Des Moines, Iowa, Elizabeth (David) Phillips of Woodlawn, Tenn., Stephanie (Kevin) Massey of Chula Vista, Calif., Kevin (Sandra) Bockenstedt of Clarksville, Tenn., and Maria (Aaron) Scharmota of Altoona, Iowa; four grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Diane Hahn.
Dennis was born Sept. 5, 1939, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Harold and Margaret (Ulch) Hahn. On June 21, 1991, he married Kathryn Gruman. Dennis was a car salesman for many years. He worked at the corner of Council and Collins for 28 years under four different car dealers. He retired in 2008. Dennis was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Hiawatha.
