Dennis H. Farrington, 78, of Central City, Iowa, passed away from a sudden illness at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids on May 20, 2023. There will be a Celebration of Life from 1 to 4 p.m. June 18, at Woodpecker Lodge in Pinicon Ridge Park in Central City.
He was born the son of Warren and Joyce (Holmes) Farrington of Prairieburg on Dec. 8, 1944. He was married to Linda K Fuller on Aug. 18, 1962. Dennis attended Central City School, and later Kirkwood Community College graduating with a degree in dental technology. He was the co-owner of Denoray Dental Laboratory until his retirement.
Dennis volunteered for the Central City Fire Department for 40 years, and on the ambulance service for several as an EMT. He was a quiet man of few words, never spoke ill of anyone and loved his family unconditionally. Dennis loved to fish and spend time at his cabin in Guttenberg with his wife and family. He enjoyed old cars, Harley-Davidsons, a margarita with his friends Jan and Mike, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a lover of all animals, especially his dogs, Cinder and Ella.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 60 years, Linda; daughters, Kimberly (Rudy) Morales of Tulsa, Okla., Deb (Randy) Bickel and Brenda (Bill) Harris of Central City; grandchildren, Nick Payne, Anthony Morales, Raven Morales, Miranda Tumilty and Sammy Harris; three great-grandchildren, Ava, Karley and Coraline Payne; brother, Jim Farrington; and sister, Susan Harkness.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Diane.
