Denny Lynn Martin was born Jan. 9, 1951, in Fairbury, Neb., the son of Lee and Theresa (Glasscock) Martin. He graduated from West Branch High School and served an enlistment in the Iowa National Guard. On May 13, 1972, he married Corinne Fischer in Iowa City. Denny retired from Kelly Heating & Air Conditioning after 35 years of service.
Denny loved his family and friends and was an adoptive father-like figure to many nieces, nephews and close friends. He was also a man who loved nature and animals and spent much of his time outdoors, whether hunting, taking care of his pets or enjoying the sun in his hammock. He was also an avid reader of Westerns.
His family includes his wife, Corinne "Corky"; siblings, Melba Lyvers (Alan) of Iowa City, Larry Martin (Mary) of Tennessee and Charles Martin (Vicki) of Cedar Valley; brothers-in-law, Gary Jondle of Iowa City, Steven Fischer of Arizona and Rick Fischer of Iowa City; as well as numerous extended family members with whom he cherished close relationships.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Carol Jondle.
A less formal time for family and friends to gather and remember Denny will be held later this year.
