DENNIS "BUTCH" KREMER Watkins Dennis "Butch" Kremer, 69, of Watkins, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018, at St. Luke's Hospital. A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, May 21, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel Stateroom. Dennis J. Kremer was born on July 10, 1948, to Peter and Marcella Bergfeld Kremer in Oelwein. He was raised on a farm near Lamont and graduated from Starmont High School in 1966. After high school, he honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Butch was united in marriage to Kathy Hamilton on Aug. 26, 2002, in Cedar Rapids. He was co-owner and operator of Action Services. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, boating and traveling. Butch especially enjoyed playing games on his computer. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy; children, JJ (Toni) Kremer of Hiawatha, KK (Scott) Jones of Mason City, BB (Barry Funke) Fletcher of Manchester, Kim (Chris) Reed of Marion and Kelly (Jason) Jeffrey of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Nathan and Hannah Kremer, Quentin and Karynna Jones, Bentley Fletcher, Macie Funke, Zaden and Madison Reed, Kylie, Sam (fiancee Angel Newlon) and Jacob Jeffrey; great-grandchildren, Xander and Mason; and nine siblings. Butch was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Nate Justice; two brothers, Lorus and Merlin; and his beloved dog, Andy, who always was by his side.
