Denise Joy Hein Smith, 60, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at First Assembly of God, 3233 Blairs Ferry Rd. NE, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call
from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at the church.
She is survived by her husband, Andy Smith; her children, Andrew, Jacqueline and John Smith; a sister, Cheryl Sheely; and her mother, Beth Hein.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Hein.
Denise was born to John and Beth Hein in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Nov. 10, 1958. She graduated from Washington High School in 1977 and Mount Mercy College in 1982. She enjoyed teaching and spending time at her family farm in Monticello. Denise's greatest joy was in her children.
