Denise E. Martinson, 58, of Williamsburg, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Mercy Hospital, in Iowa City.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 23, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy. The Rev. Gary Sears will be officiating. The family will receive
friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy. Inurnment will be in the First Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Conroy. A memorial fund has been established. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Denise is survived by her father, Donald Martinson of Marengo; three brothers, Dave Martinson of West Liberty, Dan Martinson of Williamsburg and Martin (Jenni) Martinson of Williamsburg; her best friend and “sister,” Arietta “Red” Schmidt of Williamsburg; nieces and nephews, Drew Martinson (Maribeth Hartmann), Kasey (Scott) Szopinski, Kaitlin Martinson, Lacey (Brad) Ivy, Aundrea Martinson and Dalton Martinson; great-nieces and -nephews, Emily Giudice, Weston and Noah Kenning, Wyatt, Emma and Gerrett Szopinski; and several aunts.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Karen, in 2007; and a nephew, T.J. Martinson, in infancy.
Denise was born April 26, 1964, in Marengo, the daughter of Donald and Karen (Wilson) Martinson. She graduated with the Williamsburg Class of 1982. Denise was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy. She worked at Williamsburg Manufacturing for 23 years as a press operator, a tool crib attendant and a painter in the painting booth. Denise loved to play jokes and was fluent in sarcasm, all in good fun. She enjoyed her time at home, talking and playing games on her phone and playing on her computer. Denise loved spending time with her dogs.
