Denise Ann Bellmer nee Ilick, of Cedar Rapids, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, July 19, 2021, from her long-term battle with type 1 diabetes. Services: 1 p.m. Saturday July 24, at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel, where a visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to
7 p.m. Burial: Czech National Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Scott A. Bellmer; her daughter, Carleigh Bellmer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; grandson, Montana Bellmer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; her nephews, Hans (Jamie) Wachal of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Chase Wachal of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; niece, Easton (Dillon) Kuda of Cedar rapids, Iowa; and great-nephew, Kinnick Kuda of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Also surviving are many cousins, her beloved pets, Kenny, Sadie and her five cats.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Pam Wachal; and several uncles.
Denise was born July 6, 1962, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Guy Carlton and Alice (Mitchell) Ilick. She married Scott A. Bellmer on May 13, 1995, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Denise was a legal secretary for law firms in Cedar Rapids. She enjoyed NASCAR races with her grandson Montana. Denise was an avid Hawkeyes and Arizona Cardinal fan.
