Delwin "Del" Dean Cline, 83, of Cedar Rapids passed away April 15, 2021, at UnityPoint-St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. A public visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on April 19 at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories Stateroom. A public graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on April 20 at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Following the continued guidance from health officials, physical distancing must be practiced, which requires a limited number of people allowed into the visitation at one time. The use of facemasks or shields is required.
Del was born Aug. 15, 1937, to Orval and Sylvia (Criss) Cline in Colfax, Iowa. He married his wife Georgena Pata on April 10, 1984, in Reno, Ne.. Del worked many years as a truck driver for Briggs Transportation until his retirement in 1993.
Del was a people person and enjoyed giving others a hard time, but was always in good fun. He was an avid bowler and loved to travel with his family to bowling tournaments. From dirt tracks to NASCAR, Del enjoyed all forms of racing and enjoyed cheering on the Chicago Cubs. Most importantly, he enjoyed the time he spent with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Georgena; children, Kevin (Jennifer) Cline and Kelly (Christopher) Lacy; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Del was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Fern and her husband Gasper Minor; and stepchildren, Fred Yeggy and Sandy Yeggy.
