Delrose G. Broghammer, 84, of Manchester, died Tuesday, March 24, 2015. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 28, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Manchester. Family will greet friends from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 27, at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester, with a 2:30 p.m. Scripture service, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday before the Mass at the church. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Manchester.
Delrose was born June 9, 1930, in Dyersville, the daughter of John and Marcella (Schute) Luensmann. She was a graduate of Xavier High School, Dyersville, and attended beauty school. On Aug. 8, 1953, Delrose was united in marriage to Anthony Broghammer at Basilica of St. Francis Xavier, Dyersville.
Delrose was a wonderful homemaker and devoted to her family. She was a dedicated Extension and 4-H volunteer for over 40 years. She enjoyed exhibiting flowers at the Delaware County Fair. In 2010, she and Tony were inducted into the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame. Delrose also was a member of the Garden Club, Catholic Daughters of America and St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Surviving are her husband, Tony Broghammer, Manchester; children, Julie (Tim) Huff, Boone, Mary (Tom) Langr, Washington, David (Mary) Broghammer, Manchester, Ellen (Tim) Broesder, Bancroft, Sue Brogham-mer, Manchester, James (Deb) Broghammer, Cedar Rapids, and John (Mary) Broghammer, Manchester; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, David Luens-mann, Colorado, and Robert Luensmann, Delhi; two sisters, Lila Luens-mann and Marjie McDermott, Cascade; brothers-in-law, Dr. John O'Brien and Jim (Marie) Broghammer; and sister-in-law, Ann (Lee) Neiman, Colorado.
Delrose was preceded in death by one son, Jan Allen Broghammer; and two sisters, Mary Luensmann and Irene O'Brien.
