Deloris A. Wickwire, 80, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Sunday, Aug. 14, 2016, at St. Luke's Living Center in Cedar Rapids.
Deloris, the daughter of Weslie and Gertrude (Peek) Miller, was born March 11, 1936, in Williamsburg, Iowa. She attended Blairstown school. Following school, she married Marvin Wickwire on March 20, 1953, in Marengo. Together the couple settled in Cedar Rapids. Deloris was a homemaker and stayed home to raised their children.
Deloris loved cooking, baking and gardening. She also liked spending her time traveling and enjoying many vacations. The true love of her life were her children and husband. She was a member of Royal Neighbors of Belle Plaine and Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Marvin; children, Marvlyn (Allen) Barber of Clarksville, Beverly Weiss of Cedar Falls and Dean (Chris) Wickwire of Shell Rock; grandchildren, Nicholas (Emily) Barber, Nathan (Brandi) Wickwire and Tyler (Linda) Wickwire; and nine great-grandchildren.
Deloris was preceded in death by her parents; son, Marvin Dean Jr.; a sister; and two brothers.
Services at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service in Belle Plaine, with Pastor Steven Hubbell officiating. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, at the funeral home. Visitation will continue one hour before the service Thursday. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Belle Plaine.
