DELORIS JEAN CLARK
Raymore, Mo.
Deloris Jean (Van Wyk) Clark of Raymore, Mo., formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away from a long illness on July 2, 2021.
Deloris was born Dec. 7, 1931, to Gerrit and Myrtle (Berkenholz) Van Wyk, in Prairie City, Iowa. She was raised by her father and stepmother, Lana (Schultz) Van Wyk. She attended nursing school at the University of Iowa. She married Dawson O. Clark Jr. on April 3, 1955. They settled in Cedar Rapids.
Deloris was a friend to all who knew her. She spent many years volunteering in the Cedar Rapids school district and received awards for service including the distinguished Jefferson Award for outstanding volunteer service and an honorary diploma from Jefferson High School. Following the death of her husband in 1999, she moved to Clatskanie, Ore., where she continued her volunteer work with the Senior Center and the American Legion.
She had resided in Raymore, Mo., at Foxwood Springs Senior Living since 2011.
Deloris is survived by her son, Steven Clark, Cedar Rapids; her daughter, Susan Jagerson (Harold), Junction City, Kan.; grandchildren, Chad Jagerson (Jessica), Oldsmar Fla., Fabrienne Franzen (Charles), Raymore Mo., Zachary Clark, Portland Ore., Clate Clark, Christopher Clark, Aaron (Tiffany) Clark, Amber Hall, Dustin Clark (LaTisha) and Amanda Pate; as well great-and great-great children.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother; her husband, Dawson Clark; sister, Betty Koula; brothers, Orville and Melvin Van Wyk; and sons, Clate Clark Sr. and Jon-Paul Clark.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service is being planned at Foxwood Springs. Interment will be held at a later date in Iowa.
