Delores Diane Davis, 79, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Mercy Medical Center.
Homegoing Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 15, at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, located 6621 C Ave., NW. Burial will be in Oakhill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Friday at the church. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.
Delores was born Oct. 5, 1942, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Olen and Magnolia (Hurst) Gibson. She attended McKinley and graduated from Washington High School. Delores was united in marriage to Henry Davis. She worked at the Cedar Rapids Post Office main location for many years, until her retirement. She loved cooking, watching cooking shows, gardening, tending to her flowers, decorating her yard, watching western TV shows and, most of all, spending to with her family.
Delores is survived by her son, Anthony “Kirk” Davis and Monica (Gary) Lampkins; two grandchildren, Lynnae Lampkins and Javae Lampkins; her siblings, Paulette (James) Clark and Olen (Lisa) Gibson; special friend, Nancy Ross; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, Landy Waller and Karl Waller.
