Delores Elaine Cleaves, 85, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, April 24, 2021, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Private family graveside services will be at Hala Cemetery, near Walford. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.
Delores was born Dec. 28, 1935, in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Cleo O. and Adeline S. (Rozek) Ramsey. She was united in marriage to Charles E. Cleaves at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in 1955. Delores worked at Square D for over 32 years retiring in 2001. She enjoyed tending to her pets, as well as being a loving mother and grandmother to her family.
Delores is survived by her children, Charles (Lisa) Cleaves Jr. of Hot Springs, Ark., Richard (Marie) Cleaves of Decatur, Ill., and Kathryn Cleaves of San Diego, Calif.; six grandchildren Kelly, Brandon, Shawn, Christy, Carina and Courtney; and three great-grandchildren, Jazlynn, Lakynn and Colt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; her son, Donald Cleaves; and her brother, Harold Ramsey.
