Delores A. Zahradnek, 82, of Iowa City, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics surrounded by family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 10, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, March 9, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City, where a rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed toward St. Mary's Catholic Church or the Palliative Care Unit at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Delores was born Aug. 2, 1935, in Johnson County, Iowa, daughter of Albert Roy and Lillian Marie (Maier) Spenner. On Aug. 13, 1955, Delores married Wayne "Dick" Zahradnek at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Iowa City.
Delores is survived by her loving children, Laura (Jeff) Price, Larry (Connie) Zahradnek, Diana (Russell) Brown, Daryl (Jennifer) Zahradnek and LeRoy Zahradnek; her five grandchildren, Nick Price, Lee (Jacqui) Price, Wayne Zahradnek, Aaron (Sharon) Zahradnek and Leeza Brown; her two great-grandchildren, Hayden and Hunter Zahradnek; her sisters, Phyllis Zahradnek and Mary Carter; her brother-in-law, Dean Amelon; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Zahradnek; her parents, Albert and Lillian Spenner; her sister, Carolyn Amelon; and her grandson, Trevor Brown.
