Delmar “Jack” Robertson, 84, died Sunday, August 25, 2024, following complications from surgery. He was born October 9, 1939, to Kenneth and Doris Robertson, in Cedar Rapids. No public memorial services will be held.
He is survived by a son, Kenny (Lesta), and two daughters, Melanie (Butch) and Jackie; two sisters, Joan Johnson and Penny Lerch; eleven grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; two sisters, Delores and Shirley; and a brother, Tony.
Jack was retired after a lifelong career at National Oats, later Ralston Foods, in Cedar Rapids. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, and playing cards. He was a fan of John Wayne films, the Miami Dolphins (but not Dan Marino), and the Chicago Cubs. He was known for his belly laugh while watching episodes of “The Jeffersons” or “Sanford and Son,” which would echo throughout the house. Jack was a loyal husband and beloved father and grandfather, and will be missed by friends and family alike.
