DeFord, Donna M.
Donna M. DeFord, 72, of Cedar Rapids, died December 26, 2010 at St. Luke's Hospital following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories with Pastor Daniel Clark-Bridges of Hope Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Jerry; children, Dennis DeFord and wife Robin, David DeFord, and Daniel DeFord, all of Cedar Rapids; one sister, Edith Meeker-Musgrove and husband Ted of Cedar Rapids; her grandchildren, Alexander Minor, Andrew DeFord, Thomas DeFord, Shelby DeFord, Kylie DeFord and Dillon DeFord; and her one great-grandson, Carter.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Donna Milree DeFord was born November 5, 1938 in Ottumwa, the daughter of Oscar L. and Hellen (DeBurn) Orman. She was united in marriage to Jerry Lee DeFord on December 26, 1958 in Ottumwa. She worked at Square D for over 30 years. She and Jerry enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. together. She also enjoyed listening to music, doting on her grandchildren and her time spent with family. She will be greatly missed.
Memorial contributions in Donna's honor may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
