Deerberg, Frances Louise
Frances Louise Deerberg, 92, of Tipton, died Friday, March 11, 2011, in the Clarence Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 14, at First United Church of Christ, Tipton. Interment will be in the Clarence Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton.
Frances Louise Lendt, daughter of Herbert and Emma (Strackbein) Lendt, was born Nov. 3, 1918, in Bennett, Iowa. Frances graduated from Clarence High School. Frances worked at the Tipton Maid-Rite for 25 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of First United Church of Christ, Tipton.
Surviving are her three daughters, Alice (Lavelle) Martin of Iowa City, Belva (Stuart) Weers of Boone and Glenda (Dale) Edwards of Guthrie Center; two sons, Wayne (LaVonne) Deerberg of Tipton and Ken (Patsy) Deerberg of Cedar Rapids; brother, Raymond (Helen) Lendt of Tipton; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Wilmot, Delmar and Elmer Lendt; three sisters, Leona Zahner, Marie Lupher and Myrtle Geertz; and three grandchildren, Mayanna Sue, Kerry and Terry Martin.
A general memorial fund has been established in her memory.
