Debra Jeanne Weeks, 61, of Washington, Iowa, died Monday, Oct. 20, 2014, at Northshore Hospital in Evanston, Ill., following a sudden illness. Celebration of Life services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Washington, with Pastor Maureen Howard officiating. Visitation will begin 2 p.m. Thursday at Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington, where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday. Interment will take place at Elm Grove Cemetery, Washington.
Memorials have been established for Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Debra Jeanne Herren was born June 6, 1953, in Anamosa, Iowa, the daughter of Duane and Doris Jeanne (Orr) Herren. Debbie graduated from Anamosa High School in 1971 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in social work from the University of Iowa in 1975. She was united in marriage to Edward Weeks on Sept. 7, 1974, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Anamosa. They have lived in Iowa, Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas and Illinois before moving back to Iowa in 1990. While living in Washington, Debbie was employed as a social worker and substitute teacher.
She thoroughly enjoyed her family, children, granddaughter and her many friends.
She is survived by her husband, Ed Weeks of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Kirsten Markwell and husband Scott of Skokie, Ill.; son, Brian Weeks of Vienna, Austria; granddaughter, Genevieve Markwell; mother, Doris Jeanne Herren of Anamosa; sister, Dawn Herren-Wegman and husband Joe of Iowa City; brother, Dan Herren and wife Lise of Kirkwood, Mo.; sister, Darcy Jacobs and husband Dave of Anamosa; mother-in-law, Pearl Weeks of Washington; sister-in-law, Anita Miller of Kalona; brother-in-law, Steve Weeks and wife Kathy of Indianola; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Duane Herren.
