Debra Shedeck passed away Dec. 26, 2016, in Tucson, Ariz.
Deb was born in Cedar
Rapids, Iowa, on Sept. 29, 1951. She had a degree in
social work, spending her
entire career in the service
of child protection and
welfare. Her huge heart,
dedication and sense of
humor were the foundation of her work and life. She was a teacher and mentor to the
people she supervised and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Gourmet cooking was a passion for Deb and she loved cooking for her family, friends and co-workers. Deb loved animals, antiques, children and the Academy Awards.
Deb was preceded in death by her mother, Zella.
Surviving are her father, Malvern Shedeck; brothers, Stephen and Mal Shedeck; a sister, Janet (Roscoe) Dahl; several nephews; and her beloved dog, Rosie.
In honor of Deb's wishes, there will be no service, but a celebration of life is planned at a future date in
Arizona.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Peppi's Hospice House of Southern Arizona or the
humane society.
