Debra Reid, 61, of Oskaloosa, formerly of Marion, died Thursday, Jan. 26, at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City.
Visitation will be from noon to 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids. Graveside services will follow at 3 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, officiated by Certified Celebrant Jim Parton.
Debra was born Nov. 26, 1955, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Vernon Dale and Virginia Louise (Kingan) Torgerson. She was united in marriage to David Frank Reid on Dec. 31, 1973, in Marion.
Debra was a homemaker and caretaker for most of her life. She was a lifelong nurturer who loved spending time with her family. Debra was a fantastic cook, famous for her chicken enchiladas and homemade mints. She enjoyed fishing and camping, as well as crocheting. She loved to play cards, especially rummy and 500.
She is survived by her children, Dennis Reid, Daniel Reid, Derek Miller and Dalina Lacy; stepchildren, Jennifer Moon and Shawnee Miller; eight grandchildren; as well as her siblings, Bill, Jim and Larry Dyslin, Nick and Jimmy Jandron, Tim Torgerson, Wanda Westercamp, Suzette Roushia, Tammie Shroll and Sandy Gutierrez.
Debra was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David, in 1979; granddaughter, Taylor Krueger; brother, T.J. Jandron; and stepmother, Marian Torgerson.
A memorial has been established in Debra's name.
