DEBRA JEANNE WILKIN
Cedar Rapids
Debra Jeanne Wilkin, 61, passed away Nov. 17, 2018, after a short illness. A visitation will be held at Teahen Funeral Home Saturday, Nov. 24, from noon to 3 p.m., followed by a short memorial service.
Deb was born Oct. 20, 1957, in Marion, Iowa, the youngest daughter of Billie and Don Hoyt. She was a graduate of Linn-Mar High School and the University of Northern Iowa. Deb married Jeff Wilkin on June 6, 1981, and they were blessed with two children. Deb worked for Aegon and for Coldwell Banker Hedges before she retired. She also was a founding co-owner of European Motors Ltd., where she worked as the bookkeeper for many years.
Deb was a loving soul who most enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren. Family and friends were a close second! She liked to garden, hike, shop, take yoga and step classes, walk her dog, sew and travel, especially to Colorado. Her smile could light up the room.
Deb is survived by her husband, Jeff Wilkin; children, Taylor (Katelyn) Wilkin and Jenna (Michael) Lebler; grandchildren, Eli and Avery Wilkin and Ryan and Reid Lebler; mother, Billie J. Hoyt; siblings, Robert (Karen) Hoyt, Dennis (Laurie) Hoyt and Vicki (John) Casali; mother-in-law, Judy I. Wilkin; sisters-in-law, Lisa Poole, Sandra (Scott) Fergus and Tracy (Todd) Anderson; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Deb was preceded in death by her father, Donald J. Hoyt; and father-in-law, David G. Wilkin.
