Debra Annette Williams-Chambers, 58, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Thursday, March 21,2024. Homegoing Service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2024, at New Life Outreach, located at 3300 42nd St. NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402. Private family inurnment will be at a later date. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre is in charge of arrangements. The family asks everyone to wear purple and black in support of Debra.
Debra was born June 15, 1965, Camden, Arkansas, the daughter of Melva Dean Bryant and Billy Joe Seals. She graduated from Hampton High School in Hampton, Arkansas, following she moved to Iowa in 1988. Debra earned a cosmetology degree from Capri College. She worked as a hair stylist for many years. Debra was a loving wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt and will be greatly missed.
She leaves behind her husband of over thirty-five years, Jeffery DeWayne Chambers Sr.; her children, LaQwesha Kantrell Williams, Jeffrey DeWayne Chambers Jr., Kyashia Monique Chambers, and Jentry DeRaine Chambers; her grandchildren KyLeah Williams, James Chambers Jr., Javari Williams; her great-grandchildren Kaelani Williams and Phoenix Chambers; her siblings Barbara Ann Seals, Janice Marie (Rick) Morris and Melva Jeannette (Larry Sr.) Caldwell; her special niece and nephew La’Shanti Chanise Caldwell and Larry Charles Caldwell Jr. ; great-nieces and -nephews Larry III, La’Riah “her birthday twin”, and Haizley “Chunka Bunka”; as well as host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her grandparents.
