Deborah Ruth Sands, 70, of Center Point, Iowa, sadly passed away Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022, one day after the death of her son, Joshua Hendryx of Palo, Iowa. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, assisted the family.
Deb was born on Dec. 1, 1951, in Manchester, Iowa, the daughter of, Raymond and Grace (Wymore) Rowe. She attended North Linn schools and Kirkwood Community College where she became a registered nurse. Deb worked at the NICU at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids and the Visiting Nurses Association of Linn County. She was a member of the Troy Mills Historical Society, CPU Crew, and was active with the Karma for Cara Foundation and Hope for Kaitlynn. Deb loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She enjoyed gardening, baking and sewing. Deb will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her son, Connor Sands; grandkids, Jai, Brixley and Brezlyn Boyes-Hendryx (children of Brooke Boyes) and Karrah Marion; daughter, Kristen Marion-Hendryx; siblings, Cheryl Paulsen, James “Lance” (Julie) Rowe and Roxanne Mulford; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Joshua Hendryx; and half-sister, Betty Howey.
