Deborah Jean Lafler, 56, of Fruitland Park, Fla., died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, at The Villages Regional Hospital in The Villages, Fla., following a short-term illness.
Deborah Jean Lighty was born Jan. 13, 1961, in Manchester, Iowa, the daughter of David John and Delores Lighty. In 1979, she graduated from Starmont Community High School. She graduated from Capri Cosmetology in 1981. On July 3, 1981, Deborah was united in marriage to William John Lafler Jr. in Marion, Iowa. She worked at Wal-Mart in Anamosa, Iowa, for 17 years.
She enjoyed flea markets, auctions, time spent with family, her flower beds, and her beautiful five-acre property.
Deborah is survived by her husband, William Lafler Jr.; her children, Juston (Jamie) Lafler of Riverview, Fla., Nick (Jessie) Lafler of Fruitland Park, Fla., and Brynn Lafler of Onslow, Iowa; two grandchildren, Tristan Lafler and Keegan Vaske; her father, David John Lighty Sr.; her stepmother, Cheryl Lighty; her sisters, Darla Lighty, Deann (Lyle) Gibbs and Carrie Rostcheck; and her brothers, Burdette (Ann) Elsbury and David (April) Lighty Jr.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Delores Lighty; and her mother-in-law and father-in law, Judith and William Lafler.
