Deborah L. Hildebrand, 56, of Shellsburg, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, March 28, 2016, at St. Luke's Hospital. Graveside services at 1 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements,
Survivors include her father, Larry of Parrish, Fla.; a brother, Steve (Renee) of Fairfax; and a sister, Julie Meiers of Palmetto, Fla. She also is survived by a niece, Becca; two nephews, Matt and Brandon; and her family at REM of Iowa and Options of Linn County.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Debbie was born July 7, 1959, in Davenport, the daughter of Lawrence and Magda Michelet Hildebrand. Debbie worked at Options of Linn County for more than 35 years. She loved animals and volunteered at the Cedar Valley Humane Society for 10 years. She enjoyed going to movies, going out to eat and butterflies. Debbie was a people person who had an infectious laugh and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Cathy Thornburg, who was Debbie's best friend and mentor.
