Deborah Ann Hardin, 62, of Hopkinton, died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, at Jones Regional Medical Center, Anamosa. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, at St. Luke Catholic Church, with Father Paul Baldwin presiding. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church, where there will be a 3 p.m. parish vigil. A private family inurnment will be at a later date in Hopkinton Cemetery. Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.
Deborah was born April 30, 1952, in Monticello, the daughter of Patrick and Geraldine (Lahey) Huber. She graduated from Maquoketa Valley High School in 1970. She received her LPN degree from Kirkwood Community College. Deb was united in marriage to Terry Hardin on April 14, 1973, in Hopkinton. She worked at Swiss Valley Creamery and Sno-Go in Hopkinton and at Community Health of Delaware County for many years. Deb took great pride in taking care of her clients, friends and family. She had a very kind heart and shared her love with many.
Deb enjoyed cooking, gardening, watching TV shows, couponing, shopping at the Not So Tiny House and spending time with her family.
Deb is survived by her husband of over 41 years, Terry; her children, Molly (Stan) Franzenburg and Jeremiah (Connie) Hardin, both of Monticello, Nora (Patrick) Billmeyer and Hannah Hardin, both of Hopkinton; grandkids, Madison, Connor, Lydia, Khloe, Izabella and Lylah and Jenny and Dani Behrends; her mother, Gerry Huber of Hopkinton; siblings, Peg Bradke of Hiawatha, Jill (Steve) Sodawasser of Alburnett, Dan (Carla) Huber of Coggon, Mark (Sarah) Huber of Chicago and Jan (Mark) Brewer and Jody (Rob) Meyer, both of Cedar Rapids; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Deb was preceded in death by her father, Patrick; and her father- and mother-in-law, Glen and Esther Hardin.
Memorials may be directed to Dollars for Scholars at Maquoketa Valley High School.
