Deborah K. Hubler Giese, 61, passed away after a brief illness May 30, 2014, at St. Vincent's
Hospital in Little Rock, Ark. She has been laid to rest in Oakland Cemetery, Man-chester, where a private memorial
service for family and friends, including military honors, will be planned at a future date.
Deborah "Debbie" is survived by her mother, Marilyn (Gene) Zumhof of Marion; ex-husband, Wayne Giese of Omaha, Neb.; three stepsons, Dean, Darin and Jody; and sister, Juanita Barry of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Fay and Elsie Ellis of the Manchester/Ryan area; and uncles, Elton Ellis and his wife, Erma, and Robert Koehne.
She was born May 20, 1953, in Cedar Rapids to M. and Marilyn Hubler. She graduated from Hempstead High School in 1971 and in that same year, enlisted in the Navy, where she served until 1982. During her service she received numerous commendations for her exemplary work ethic and accomplishments.
After leaving the service she went to work in the information processing industry, lastly working for F.I.S. Corporation in Little Rock.
Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice. Debbie loved her animals, so an animal shelter is suggested.
