Debby was born Oct. 19, 1948, in Jackson, Tenn., to Walter and Margery (Muehring) Gundling. She spent much of her childhood in Philadelphia, but her family moved several times before eventually relocating to Keokuk, where she attended high school and met her future husband, Jon.

After returning to the United States in 1971, Debby and Jon lived briefly in a number of places including Cherokee, Iowa, and Elkhart, Ind., before settling in Cedar Rapids and starting their family.
Debby worked various jobs through the years including cashier, bank teller, bookkeeper and as the manager of a Christmas store in Amana, before retiring in 2012.
She enjoyed painting, traveling, cooking and entertaining. Debby valued her many friendships, and was a member of several groups, including the Tea Ladies, Card Club, and the GFWC.
Debby is survived by her husband, Jon Adams of Cedar Rapids; her sons, Dan (Elizabeth Cali) Adams of St. Louis and Carl (Jessica) Adams of Des Moines; and her sisters, Kristi (Greg) Moran of St. Louis and Rebekah (John) Flowers of St. Louis.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Michal Christine.
