Debner, James 'Shag'
James “Shag” Debner, 65, of Clarence, died Oct. 9, 2009, at his home. Funeral services: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence, by the Rev. David Mears. Burial: St. John's Cemetery, with military rites. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his stepdaughters, Kim Shebetka of Clarence and Kelly Bixler of Cedar Rapids; stepsons, Kevin and Kip Wenndt of Clarence and Kerry Wenndt of Michigan; six stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; sisters, Barb Mooney of Whittier and Joann DeMoss of Marion; brother, Robert Debner of Clarence; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Cheryl.
He was born Aug. 27, 1944, in Davenport, the son of Wilbur and Viola (Hipshur) Debner. James was a carpenter and had served in the Navy.
