Patrick J. (Pat) Dearborn, 82, of Anamosa, died Saturday Jan. 21, 2012. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Anamosa. Father Wayne Droessler will officiate. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa with a Scripture service at 7 p.m. Internment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Anamosa.

Surviving are his wife, Virginia; children, Barb Dearborn of West Des Moines, Connie Dearborn of Bloomington, Ill., Karen (Mike) Sweet of Cedar Rapids, Mike (Kari) Dearborn of Anamosa, Dick (Tammy) Dearborn of Park View, Carol (Wade) Mittelstadt of Waverly, and Linda (Mike) Snyder of Center Point; nine grandchildren, Joel (McKenzie), Kelsi, Laci and Megan Dearborn, Kathy Dearborn and Renee (Tyler) Robertson, Nicole and Austin Mittelstadt, and Dillon Snyder; a twin sister, Patty Kehoe of Anamosa; and sisters-in-law, Joyce (Dick) Patnode and Lois DeMay.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two children, Joanie in 1965 and Dave in 1985; four sisters; and two brothers.
Pat was born July 12, 1929, in Anamosa, and was raised in Stone City. He was the son of Frank and Tressa (Dougherty) Dearborn. He was a 1946 graduate of Anamosa High School. Pat served his country in the United States Army from 1950 to 1952. On July 16, 1955, Pat and Virginia Morrissey were united in marriage in Monticello. Pat started his working career for DeWees Quarries, and later operated the Phillip's 66 station in Anamosa from 1964 to 1966. He worked for Weber Stone from 1966, until his retirement in1992.
Pat was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Anamosa for more than 57 years. He was also a member of the Wapsipinicon and Fawn Creek Country Clubs. He was an avid golfer and sports fan. Pat never missed his children's or grandchildren's activities. His humor and the way he liked to agitate were appreciated by all. His greatest treasure was the time spent with his family.
e was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and will be missed dearly by those closest to him.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Camp Courageous or charity of choice.
