Deanne Kerker
DEANNA L. (ANDERS) KERKER
Newhall
Deanna L. (Anders) Kerker, 59, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022, due to complications of long term COVID- 19. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. Sixth St., Vinton. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. A celebration of Deanna's life will also be held at a later date.
Deanna was born Sept. 13, 1962, to Don and Doris (Smith) Anders. She graduated from Benton Community High School, with the Class of 1981. She married David Kerker on June 15, 1985, in Newhall. Deanna worked as the office manager of the family's floor covering business in Newhall.
Deanna's greatest joy was her family, (especially nieces and nephews), friends and the many animals she adopted over the years. She was the go-to person in Newhall when loose animals were found. She would find the owners, or if strays, she would board them until she found a permanent home for them. Deanna took pride in her flowers and her yard, as well as decorating her home. She was known as the shopping queen, especially for shoes, purses and jewelry. Deanna had an infectious laugh and a huge heart that brought happiness to those around her.
Deanna is greatly loved and will be missed by her husband, David; fur babies, Zeke, Rocky and Emmie; father, Don (Jo) Anders; brother, Alan (Diana) Anders; sister, Linda (Galen) Kerkman; 10 nieces and nephews; six great-nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Darlene Kerker; and sister-in-law, Donna (Bill) McGill.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Doris; brother, Randy; niece Courtney; father-in-law, Don Kerker; sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Danny Kerker; and many dogs, cats, birds and donkey, Fonzie.
