Dean Michael Schulte, 63, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015, surrounded by family at the Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, after a long illness. Visitation: 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 17, at
Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Graveside services: noon Monday at Anderson Cemetery, Swisher.
Dean was born Feb. 16, 1952, in Waukon, Iowa, to Harold and Ruth (Burns) Schulte. He worked as a carpenter and belonged to the Carpenters Union. He enjoyed the outdoors, playing cards and spending time with his family.
He was a funny guy, and his sense of humor and quick wit will be missed.
Survivors include his children, Chad and Brooke Schulte; mother, Ruth Schulte; brother, Scott Schulte (Wayne Spears); sisters, MaryLynn (David) Henry, Susan (Dan) Dubishar and Sandra Whitters (Bob Scott); and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold; son, Cameron; brother, Mark; and special friend, Linda.
