Dean, Olive B.
Olive B. Dean, 84, of Manchester, formerly of Hiawatha, died Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at her home after a long illness. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Friday. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements,
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy McShane of Central City and Dixie (Randy) Franks of Manchester; and one brother, Orville Nigh of Kansas City, Mo. Olive is also survived by eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Nigh.
Olive was born Aug. 1, 1928, in Modena, Mo., the daughter of Floyd and Ruby Hamilton Nigh. She married Billy B. Dean on Dec. 17, 1949, in Trenton, Mo. Billy passed away in 1991.
Olive worked at Rockwell-Collins for over 22 years, retiring in 1984. She was a member of Eastern Star. Olive enjoyed line dancing, quilting, gardening and especially the time she spent with her beloved family and friends.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial fund has been established.
