Dean, Lee Roy James
Lee Roy James Dean, 67, of Marion, died at home on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Marion, by Gary Warner. Visitation: one hour before the service on Wednesday. Private family burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Jessel; his father, Donald L. Dean of Marion; a brother, Donald A. (Darlene) Dean of Marion; three sons, James (Val) Dean of Anamosa, John Dean of Marion and Mark (Jane) Gilmore of Las Nevada; three daughters, Donna Wyant and Jo Ellen Bednarowicz, both of Marion, and Lisa Watson of Clear Lake, Calif.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a special aunt, DeVee (Charles) Warner of Marion; and cousins, Charles (Cindy) Warner, Gary (Paula) Warner, Dean (Patricia) Warner and Steve (Kim) Krizek.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Matilda.
Lee Roy was born April 20, 1942, in Marion, Iowa. He served as a Sea Bee in the U.S. Navy, where he became a heavy equipment operator. His favorite hobby was fishing with his wife, Jessel.
Lee Roy was a kind and loving husband who will be greatly missed.
