Dean Allen Conley, 56, of Mount Vernon, died Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar
Rapids. Funeral Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 9, at Morgan Funeral & Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon, by Pastor CW Slaton. Visitation: 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Private family burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville.
Survivors include his father, Melvin Conley; brother, Loren (Roxanna) Conley; and sister, Linda (Dan) Gaines, all of Mount Vernon; two nephews, Mike Conley of Mount Vernon and Kurt Gaines of Iowa City; and a niece, Melissa (Brad) Beachel of Marion.
Dean was born Aug. 15, 1957, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Melvin and Dona (Busch) Conley. He grad-uated from Mount Vernon High School in 1976. After high school, he spent several years running combines around the country during the wheat harvest. He then went on to graduate from the University of Northern Iowa. Dean worked for many years in telecom-munications, including MCI.
He enjoyed collecting toy tractors, especially John Deere.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dona.
