Daywitt, Terry Ray
Terry Ray Daywitt, 67, passed away July 13, 2012, in Cedar Rapids.
Terry was born May 8, 1945, in Cedar Rapids to Orville and Frances (Ralston) Daywitt. Terry graduated from Washington High School in 1963, and went into the Army in 1968 and served in the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1970. Terry married Gloria J. Newport on Sept. 4, 1971, and they enjoyed their many trips to Hayward, Wis., with his favorite quote being “Another great day in the north woods.” Terry enjoyed country music and working on the computer or anything electronic. Terry went to work for Rockwell Collins in 1963 and spent 40 years there until his retirement in 2004. Terry was a member of American Legion Post 289 in Marion.
Terry is survived by his wife, Gloria, of Cedar Rapids; son, Brad Daywitt of Cedar Rapids; and sister-in-law, Pat McCulley of Oskaloosa.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law, Dick McCulley.
A celebration of life visitation will be held Tuesday, July 17, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. No services are planned.
Memorial may be directed to the National Diabetes Association.
