Day, Beverly Ann
Beverly Ann Day, 66 (in her eyes age 19, since 1965) grew her angel wings and flew to heaven on Monday, April 1, 2013. Awaiting her with open arms and huge smiles were her parents, Tom and Lucille Etten Day and her brothers, Bruce and Ronald. Bev's parents adored her and all three are rejoicing in heaven.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 4, at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa, with interment in the Riverside Cemetery. The Rev. Al Polito will officiate at the services. Friends may call after noon Thursday at the funeral home.
Thoughts, memories and condolences may be left at .
Beverly was born Sept. 19, 1946. She was raised in Anamosa and lived with her family until moving to Discovery Living group home on June 3, 1984. This was a difficult decision for her family but John Morris and Discovery Living promised to care for and love Beverly. The family would like to thank Discovery Living, John Morris and the many wonderful and dedicated staff who kept this promise and took such wonderful care of Beverly throughout her life. Beverly also worked at Options of Linn County from 1984 to 2006 before retiring to a life of leisure.
Beverly enjoyed many things: van rides in the tan van, root beer, singing, Elvis, playing her guitar, karaoke, having her nails done, getting dolled up with her jewelry, and cute clothes, looking at her JC Penny catalogs, Wendys, dancing, her purse, checking out giant library books, having her picture taken, giving out hugs and kisses to everyone and so much more.
Beverly is survived by her sisters, Kathy (Russell) Fritz, Marengo, and Teresa Stickley, Olin; a brother, Kevin (Kim) Day, Cedar Rapids; and her niece and nephews, Samantha Day, Adam Day, Brian (Diana) Fritz, Jamie (Michelle) Fritz and their families Cody, Mariah, Maci, Cole, Brady and Emma.
Beverley loved her family dearly and talked of them often, she spent holiday and other special occasions with them regularly. Beverly was very close with her family and they love her more than words can ever express, all of them are deeply saddened by her passing but know they will be reunited one day in heaven.
Beverly had such a genuine and loving soul and touched everyone deeply who came in contact with her. Thank you Bev, for being you and making all of us richer, happier and a better person for having known you. We will miss you.
The family and Discovery Living would like to thank Dr. Mary Ann Nelson for being a wonderful doctor and friend to Beverly for the past 29 years. We would also like to thank the many wonderful people at Hospice of Mercy, for their help and care of Bev, Beverly loved their visits, especially Margaret, Molly and Rachel.
