Davis, Donna
Donna Davis, 49, of Iowa City, died Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009, at her home following a courageous battle with cancer. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday, Aug. 24, at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, with the Very Rev. Rudolph Juarez officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City, where a rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice or Friends of the Animal Center Foundation.
Donna was born Feb. 12, 1960, in Twenty Nine Palms, Calif. She was a graduate of West High School. Donna had been employed at the Comfort Inn and Suites, and for the last four years in housekeeping at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. Donna loved time spent with family and friends, especially her niece and nephew. She was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan.
Survivors include her mother, Joan Davis of Iowa City; her siblings, Tom (Kathy) Davis of Littleton, Colo., Mark Davis of Iowa City and Lynn (Ken) Bland of Lone Tree and their children, KJ and Heather; and her beloved cat, Gracie.
She was preceded in death by her father, Tom Schutzer; sister-in-law, Gwen; her maternal grandparents, two uncles and a cousin.
