David L. Troester, 70, of Vinton, passed away Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017, at Manor Care in Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Oakland Church of the Nazarene (Cedar Rapids), with Pastor Dave King officiating. Entombment with military rites will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
David Lee Troester was born May 28, 1947, to Lester and Jessie (Decker) Troester in Guttenburg, Iowa. He proudly served in the Vietnam War with the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Navy. David was united in marriage to June Ringler on March 4, 1969, in Honolulu, Hawaii.
He is survived by his children, David (Debbie) Troester of Cedar Rapids, Dyanna (Jeremiah Thompson) Burhman of Toledo and Katheryn (Chuck) Behm of Ely; brothers, Dayle of Manchester, Harley of Dickeyville, Wis., and Richard of Shellsburg; and 10 grandchildren.
David was preceded in death by his parents; wife, June; and brother, Gerome Troester.
