David L. Taylor, 78, of Oelwein, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday morning, May 3, 2014, at
his home. Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, at Grace United Methodist Church, Oelwein, with the Rev. Connie Markle officiating. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein, and one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday. Military Service: 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home by Oelwein American Legion Ross Reid Post 9. Inurnment will be at a later date.
A memorial fund has been established for Grace United Methodist Church and Palmer Hospice.

Dave is survived by his wife, Mary Taylor of Oelwein; son, Eric (Amy) Taylor of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, LeJean (Michael) Pope of Cedar Rapids and Angie (Tracy) Munson of Cedar Rapids; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Sheryl Tierney of Cedar Rapids; brother, Jimmy Taylor of Newton, Ala.; and many nieces and nephews.
