David J. Tauke, 85, of Dyersville, passed away Monday, May 22, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 25, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave. SW, Dyersville, where an American Legion service will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, prior to funeral services. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 26, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with burial in the church cemetery, where American Legion Post 137 will conduct military honors.
Survivors include his wife, Alice; six children, Doug (Kathy) Tauke and Dan (Sue) Tauke, both of Dyersville, Deb (John) Ketchen of Vinton, Diane (Craig) Reid of Marion, Sue (Dr. Larry) Ellingson of Iowa City and Sandy (Rick) Isenhart of Littleton, Colo.; a son-in-law, Dennis (Shari) Overman of Dyersville; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Marjorie Torrance of Dyersville, a brother, Marvin (Leona) Tauke of Dyersville; many in-laws from the Moorman and Konzen families; and his faithful companion, Gerti.
Memorials are preferred to St. Francis Xavier Basilica or Camp Courageous of Iowa
