David Scott Spiekermeier, 59, of Robins, entered heaven on Thursday, July 12, 2018. A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 15, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. A memorial service in remembrance of David will be on Monday, July 16, at 1 p.m. at New Covenant Bible Church. A visitation also will be held an hour prior to services on Monday. A private family graveside will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Dave was born on Aug. 22, 1958, in Fargo, N.D., the son of Donald and Donna (Roney) Spiekermeier. He married Pauline Groth on April 11, 1981, in Enderlin, N.D. Dave graduated from North Dakota State University in 1983. Working as a software engineer for 35 years, he retired from Rockwell Collins in 2018. In his free time, he enjoyed riding bicycles, being a master griller and listening to jazz music. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. His faith in Jesus Christ gave him strength and encouragement.
Left to cherish Dave's memories are his wife of 37 years, Pauline; son, Jacob Spiekermeier of Cedar Rapids; grandson, Trai Jones Jr.; brother, Lynn (wife Jan) Spiekermeier of Apache Junction, Ariz.; sister, Paula (husband Dan) Aspelund of Shakopee, Minn.; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Dave was preceded in death by his daughter, Sarah Jones; mother, Donna Ludtke; father, Donald Spiekermeier; and stepfather, Robert Ludtke.
A memorial fund has been established.
