DAVID MORALES
Oelwein
David Joseph Morales, great husband, brother and son, went to be with the Lord on May 2, 2016, at 3 p.m.
Dave was born in Waterloo, Iowa, on Dec. 29, 1953, to Dorothy and Joe Morales. He will be long remembered as a loving husband to his wife, Pam Morales (McFadden); a warm and caring brother to Steve Morales and Debbie Morales Coontz; a wonderful uncle to his many nieces and nephews; and a great friend to the many people whom he called the same.
Dave graduated from Oelwein High School in 1972. He attended Ellsworth Community College and Coe College. Dave enjoyed a long career in avionics and flight instruments. He worked for many years at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids, as well as Honeywell Aerospace and Marathon Norco Aerospace. His search for warmer weather led him and Pam to Texas, where he worked in strategic sales for Aviall Inc.
He loved the outdoors and was very happy when he was hunting pheasants with his dogs. He also loved a good joke and pranks. Many of us on the receiving end of those will remember Dave's mischievous smile from all the times he pulled one over on us. He loved life and would do anything for his family and friends.
Dave Morales is survived by his wife, Pamela McFadden Morales; brother, Steve Morales (Jan) of Oak Park Calif.; sister, Debbie Morales Coontz (Bill) of Atlanta, Ga.; father-in-law, John McFadden (Alyce) of West Union; brothers-in-law, Michael McFadden (Cindy) of Randalia, Vincent McFadden (Paula) of Waterloo and Todd Hertog of Arden Hills, Minn.; sister-in-law, Anne Huey (Bryan) of Phoenix; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Morales; father, Joseph Morales; mother-in-law, Mary Jo McFadden; brother-in-law, Tom McFadden; and sister-in-law, Patty McFadden Hertog.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, May 7, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church in Fayette. Burial will be at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, rural Fayette. Visitation will be Friday, May 6, from 4 to 8 p.m., with a Scripture service at 7:30 p.m., at S.K. Rogers Funeral Home in Fayette, and one hour preceding the service at the church.
The S.K. Rogers Funeral Home in Fayette is in charge of arrangements.
