David Arthur Melsha, 54 of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, March 23, 2016. A memorial gathering will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 25, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. A Celebration of Life will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at Little Bohemia, 1317 Third St. SE. A private family inurnment will be at a later date.
David was born March 27, 1961, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Leon "Tunnie" and Diane (Hauskins) Melsha. He graduated from Cedar Rapids Washington High School and attended Wentworth Military Academy. David enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, making sausage and having a good time with his friends and family.
David is survived by his son, Joe Melsha of Bourbonnais, Ill.; his mom and dad, Diane and Tunnie Melsha of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Jeff Melsha of Cedar Rapids and Ron "Pub" Melsha of Springville; longtime friends, Lisa Barnett and Mindy O'Leary, both of Cedar Rapids; as well as a niece, Sarah Melsha.
David was preceded in death by his grandparents.
