David Lee Fisher, 82, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away, Monday, April 28, 2025, at St. Lukes Hospital, Cedar Rapids. No service will be held. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, assisted the family.
David was born December 14, 1942, in Belle Plaine, Iowa, the son of Clifford and Blanche (Drahos) Fisher. He graduated from Belle Plaine High School and served his country honorably in the United States Navy on the USS Monticello during Vietnam. On June 3, 1967, David was united in marriage to Sandra Plowman in Tama, Iowa. He retired from Square D in Cedar Rapids. David loved all kinds of birds. He raised English Pouter and Giant Homer pigeons for show. He won many ribbons and trophies with his birds at the All-Iowa Fair in Cedar Rapids. Above everything, David loved his grandchildren and couldn’t get enough of them. He will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Fisher; children, Randy (Leah) Fisher, and Christine (Mike) McMurray, all of Cedar Rapids; and grandchildren, Chase and Raegan McMurray.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Blanche; and siblings, Mary Catherine Fisher, and Joseph “Joe” Fisher.
