David J. Shakespeare, our dearest loved one, passed away suddenly due to a heart attack on Feb. 12, 2018.
David J. Shakespeare was born June 20, 1935, to Ben and Irma Shakespeare, also of Cedar Rapids.
David was a proud member of Local 125 Plumber and Pipe Fitters for over 55 years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a proud man, and dedicated his life to his family, relatives and friends. He enjoyed the casino life for many years. One of his proudest moments was being a coach in Little League Softball. He enjoyed going to the casino and watching his children and grandchildren play athletics. He will be sorely missed.
Surviving are his wife of over 57 years, Mary G.; his children, Bryan, Bruce, Gary, Teresa and Tammy; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, George Shakespeare.
A celebration of his life will be in the spring. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre are handling David's arrangements.
