Central City
David J. Goodlove, 80, of Central City, Iowa, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 18, at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Jordan's Grove Cemetery in Central City. All guests are respectfully requested to
wear a face mask and practice social distancing.
David was born on Fe. 26, 1941, at home in Martelle, Iowa, the son of Willard and Zella (Robertson) Goodlove. He graduated from Central City High School in 1959. On July 31, 1965, at the United Church of Christ in Clemons, David was united in marriage to Nancy Bartine. She passed away on Dec. 27, 2020. David was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a longtime farmer in the Central City area. David served many years with the Linn County Pork Producers, as well as the Central City Community School Board. David was also active with the Central City Historical Society. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
David is survived and lovingly remembered by his two daughters, Maria (Ron) McFadden of Atkins, Iowa, and Sara (Jay) Gallery of Troy Mills, Iowa; four grandchildren, Logan Pillard of Washington, D.C., Remington McFadden of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Jenna Gallery and Natalie Gallery, both of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Nancy Goodlove.
Memorials in David's memory may be directed to benefit the Goodlove Scholarship at Central City High School.
