David J. Denlinger, 63, of Cedar Rapids, was relieved of all of his pain and suffering on Monday, April 29, 2024, at the Living Center West in Cedar Rapids. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m., Friday, May 3, 2024, at St. Jude Catholic Church by Rev. Nick March. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family before the service from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church. Teahen Funeral Home and Cremation are caring for the family.
David is survived by his daughter, Candice Denlinger; parents, Harvey and Ellie Denlinger; brothers, Mike (Vicky) and Matt (Nicole); sister, Kelly (Jeff) Allard; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Teri; and 2 brothers, Jamie and Dan.
David was born on June 16, 1960, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Harvey and Ellie (Lyons) Denlinger. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1979 and from Kirkwood Community College. David was employed with Norand/Intermec for many years.
Music was very important to David, and he played in numerous bands during his younger years. He enjoyed Sunday night jams at Rumors bar, and going to and watching movies whenever he could. David adored traveling with his daughter and dining out with family and friends. He loved being with family, leaving behind many memories for all who knew him.
David’s family would like to send a special thank-you to all of the outstanding staff at St. Luke’s Living Center West for their loving care and support while he lived with them.
