DAVID JEROME HOGAN
Uvalde, Texas
David Jerome Hogan, 77, of Uvalde, Texas, passed away very peacefully May 1, 2021, at Amistad Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Uvalde after a long and hard-fought battle. There will be a memorial in Iowa at a later date.
David was born to John and Virginia (Power) Hogan on July 23, 1943, in Manchester, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Judy Kennedy on Oct. 26, 1963. Years later the couple divorced. On Feb. 14, 1989, David was united in marriage to Laura Crockett. Laura passed away in 2003. He married Clara Robinson on Jan. 22, 2018.
David attended St. Mary's Catholic School in Manchester, Iowa, through eighth grade. He graduated from West Delaware High School in Manchester, Iowa, in 1962.
He is survived by his wife, Clara; daughter, Julie (Jason) Wutzke of Hiawatha, Iowa; two sons, Brad Hogan of Wheeling, Ill., and Mathew Hogan of Manchester, Tenn.; stepson, Jason Torres of Lajitas, Texas; four grandchildren, Nathan Spencer, Patrick (Ericka) Hogan, Brenda (Dion) Dumayas and Dalton Hogan; one great-grandchild, Elliott Hogan; two brothers, John (Barbara) of Uvalde, Texas, and Stephen (Casey) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and five sisters, Mary Hogan and Nancy Foss, of Hopkins, Minn., Eunice (Mike) Hasselbring of Jeffersonville, Ind., Janice (Jim) Gude of Sun City West, Ariz., and Mona (Doug) Rans of Manchester, Iowa. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a twin brother at childbirth; sister-in-law, Kathy Hogan; and brother-in-law, Steve Foss.
